Create your own customized checkered tote bag with this crochet pattern.
This pattern requires some sewing (with an option to crochet certain sections if preferred).
The finished tote will measure approx. 16 inches wide x 14 inches tall, plus an added 11 inches with the straps (there is an option for a longer strap).
You can customize your bag by making many different variations of pockets to suit your needs, as well as different strap options, including a cross-body strap.
This pattern calls for super bulky (6) yarn, and you will need approx. 350g-750g of each of the 2 colors (using Bernat blanket). The amount will vary depending on the number of pockets and straps you make.
You can use this tote to hold just about anything you can imagine! The pockets work well to hold things such as small notebooks, cell phones, water bottles, etc. For makers- you can squeeze 6 skeins of blanket yarn into the tote, as an example- it is very spacious! Use the pockets to hold your tools or stuffing (you can fit in a surprising amount). The options are endless!
